Week Link: Free E-books and Audiobooks

Winter has set in, and it’s a perfect time to read more than ever. If you’re looking for free ebooks and/or audio books, here are three public domain archive sites where you can find them – or even volunteer to read a chapter or a whole book for others to listen to. Note that these sites only provide books with expired copyrights – NOT pirated books which some illegal sites offer. Some titles are pretty obscure, but others are classic fare.

Project Gutenberg offers free ebooks digitized for your PC, iPad, Kindle, Sony Reader, iPhone, Android or other portable device.

Librivox focuses more on audio books, and is eager for readers to help them expand their selection.

Books Should Be Free has a great top 100 list and other recommendations. They offer their ebooks in MP3, Ipod and I-Tunes formats.

Happy reading (& listening)!
